Before millions of players, billions in revenue, and esports tournaments with 100 million viewers, League of Legends was more of a philosophy than a game. Despite the popularity of this cultural phenomenon, it is one of the hardest games to master and understand. This class will examine and analyze League of Legends through a variety of lenses including gameplay, eSports, psychology, and game design. Students will spend class time analyzing and discussing professional-level games while applying what they learn to their own gameplay through weekly homework assignments.
The course will cover the 3 most important aspects of League of Legends: understanding laning, learning champion mechanics/roles, and the competitive scene. The instructor, NicoThePico, is a former EU LCS coach for teams such as Origen and Fnatic and has over 10 years of experience playing the game. He will teach you how to improve your skillset and break into the eSports scene. You must have a gaming PC capable of running League of Legends without lag at minimum 60fps. This class will prepare you to be a successful player and help you develop critical thinking skills to solve complex problems. You will also learn how to use the Replay Tool on League of Legends to analyze your own and other champions’ gameplay. This tool is one of the most important tools to improving your KDA and ranking. You will also learn about the three phases of a match and how to achieve primary objectives. 롤대리
